The Definition of Meditation
Meditation is a profound state of consciousness, which enables us to perceive certain things, that we wouldn’t be able to even notice otherwise. There are a lot of false beliefs on the subject – for example many people believe that meditating is all about reaching a certain deep state, and then “meet the creator”.
While this is possible, personally I don’t think it makes much sense to do that. After all, we are on this planet for a reason and there is plenty of time for us to meet the creator after we leave our bodies. My point is that there are ways to use meditation as a way to improve your life, strengthen your body and mind, and also begin to see things more clearly.
Meditation has one thing in common with another state of consciousness called hypnosis. Indeed, when meditating, your conscious mind is out of the way. The critical part, that decides whether you should believe a certain statement is deep asleep. And your subconscious is wide open – the perfect moment for putting all kinds of positive thoughts and programming inside your brain.
You can do that by yourself, or you can listen to a tape. If you don’t know the ways in which your subconscious works, get some tapes. It’s best to use a professional hypnotist to implant thoughts in your mind, because otherwise – you don’t know what you are getting into.
Meditating is safe. Meditating is good for both your mind and your body. With enough experience – you can begin to see all kinds of positive changes. And they are all simply the result of you being aware of your body and being able to control it.
