You may have heard of monks and outcasts, who isolate themselves from the world in order to become enlightened. The idea is to stop the mind chatter, and get away from the noise and the pollution. Well, that’s one way of doing it. And it’s very effective one also. But the true strength is to never let the noise get to you. With brainwave entrainment, meditating becomes really easy to achieve.

It used to take monks decades before they learn how to go into profound meditative states. They practiced calming down, slowing down the world and letting go of their thoughts. It really was a slow, but rewarding process.

As every other state we can go in, meditation has it’s own frequencies. They fall in the theta range, which is also associated with dreaming, and intuitive thinking. With the right brainwave entrainment sounds, you can drift away into a soothing and revitalizing state, where everything is simple.

And do you know what the really cool thing about it is? That you can remember this state after you go out of it. You can learn years of practice in about a week or so. And this is a realistic objective. Your mind knows when it feels good. And it always wants to get more of that “feel-good” vibe. In the busy everyday life that we live, meditation is what your mind needs.

If you’re wondering whether you should try meditating, I can only encourage you to do so. It’s not like you’re asleep, or less aware. Quite the opposite – you become more aware of every thought process going inside you, and you can also tune in to every subtle noise that normally you wouldn’t even be capable of hearing. Meditation is a state of peace with ourselves, and this is the foundation of feeling good about yourself and about your life.

A common misconception is that brainwave entrainment can only be used for trance states, meditation, sleep induction and so on. The reason this is so commonly found is that everyone gets a bit overwhelmed sometimes. But not everyone has to be in top physical state in order to achieve his/her goals.

This is the main advantage of athletes who are aware of how brainwave entrainment can improve their sports performance. These people easily get into state for a workout or a training session, and can also easily get out of this state. Almost by demand, they are able to do heavy exercise only minutes after they’ve started training. Brainwave entrainment is an integral part of this achievement.

Most people only know of four brainwave frequencies – delta, theta, alpha and beta. And they think that their brain is in beta while they’re doing physical exercises. Actually, beta brainwaves are associated with a wide awake state, but not that aware as we would need it to be if we were working out.

The actual state athletes need to get into is gamma. While beta brainwaves range from 12 to 16 Hz, gamma brainwaves are above 40 Hz. While we are working out, we get into a profound altered state – nothing we can experience outside the gym or whereever we are working out. It’s not enough to be wide awake.

You need to be even more aware of everything around you, and even inside you. The strongest athletes are not those, who have the strongest muscles. The strongest are those, who can take advantage of the biggest percentage of their muscle fibers. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? How much stronger will you get if you discover how to get into this state in every workout.

To achieve that state, you don’t need headphones. This is because you won’t be using the popular binaural beats. With certain brainwave entrainment sounds called monaural beats it gets easier for you. You just need a decent set of speakers, and you’re ready to go. Of course, if you prefer headphones, you’ll get the same benefit. Choose the way you find most convenient.

People, who are new to brainwave entrainment believe that it is only used for healing. And while it’s perfect for boosting one’s immune system or speeding up the healing process, its abilities go far beyond that. If there’s a state your mind can get into, you can induce it with the right brainwave frequency. You see, our brain always emits a certain frequency. The only thing we have to do is find what it it.

A really useful one would be a frequency that makes us relaxed. The ones that achieve that fall in the alpha spectrum. Alpha brainwaves are associated with relaxed attention, slow reflexes and calm mind. Certain subranges of frequencies can lead you into very interesting altered states. But let’s leave those for some other time, since now we’re talking about relaxation.

I’ve noticed that every time I’m listening to monaural beats with alpha brainwaves, my eyelids tend to feel stiff. Chances are you’ll feel that too. The reason is, that your brain and your body are in different states. Your brain is relaxed, and your body is still pretty active.

Since you’re actually overriding your body, it’s smart to go with the flow. The relaxation comes from outside, and you need to give in to it. Only then you’ll truly relax. You should let go of the reasons why you can’t relax on your own. No matter if it’s a problem, or simply something you have to do, just let go of it. Yes, it needs to be done. But you’ll be able to do it far more effectively if you’re relaxed.

When you’re in this state, you can go into your subconscious. While these brainwaves are with relatively high frequency, they will still put you in a trance, and you’ll start to become aware. Because the external sounds support your state, you can focus your whole attention on what’s going on inside your head. Quite often, you’ll be surprised to find so many truths that never came to your attention.

With regular practice, you’ll be able to induce such states even without brainwave entrainment sounds. Obviously, you’ll find the effect of listening to a recording greater, than if you’re going into states on your own. And anyway, it’s nice to know you can become relaxed anywhere, anytime.
